The stock game looks extremely dull, but with the right upgrades it becomes a real treat. You don't need to buy anything, but you will need to do a LOT of downloads. and, over all, its quite fantastic at what it does. its far to early to tell and the predictions made by many are just hate mongers, trolls and fanboys from both sides. Wait and get them on sale IF you want any at all. most of them are not needed at all and only bloat the software. Unfortunately most (generally speaking) of the adddons for xplane charge about twice as much as they should. caranado for example, charges about twice as much as their aircraft are worth, but thats my opinion. I only will buy a plane if its worthwhile price. I prefer addons that cover entire areas of the globe or i wont even look at them. p[lenty of good ones in the sim already for me to use im content with.

addin pushback and the other free mods and your happening. however for passenger liner i use the freeware zibo 737-800 which slams down the gauntlet on everyone else. the question was originally asked about addon aircraft and airports. or is xp default a minimallized experience. That said i DO expect it to continue to get better. I have only one great dislike for xplane and its the horrible ATC. I dont want this to be another fsx versus xp thing. but not as mixed as you might think.Īs a previous huge ms fs guy who goes back sicne version2 in 1986 to fsx until this last year. Planes made for SP1 or SP2/Acc will not work in the Demo.I find it a mixed bag. That way we can test the plane itself and verify it is OK.
If all of that fails, tell me/us what airplane and where you got it. If all of the above are there(no alias), and working, the plane should show up in the menu. If the plane(s) have aliased panel.cfg or sound.cfg that point to a plane that is not there, they can't work. Open it with Notepad and see if it looks something like this If you have only a panel.cfg, more than likely it is aliased to a plane that doesn't exist in the demo. In the panel folder are the panel bitmap(s) and a panel.cfg file. Make sure it has these 6 things minimum model, panel, sound, and texture folders, aircraft.cfg and ?.air file, they are manditory.
Manually put your plane in the simobjects/airplanes/ folder. An installer can't find "FSX" in the registry and doesn't recognize the Demo as a valid installation point. Installing planes in the demo is the same as FSX, unless the plane comes with an "installer".
